Joined Oct 30, Messages I have just upgraded to live mail , and i cant seem to be able to send photos as attachments any-more, they just go onto sky drive, which is a pain as you have to be logged into windows live to download them at the other end.

I can add as attachments but they never arrive as i have tried sending to myself a few e mails. Is there a setting i am missing somewhere. Joined Oct 17, Messages 3. We have this exact problem. We didn't want and it came on automatically when we had to change from Live Sync. We hate the fact the photos go to Skydrive, we want them directly attached to the e-mail as before.

Joined Jan 16, Messages 5, In the ribbon now you should see "photo album" and beside it "single photo", click on single photo to insert it in your email or click on the paperclip to add it as an attachment without it going to skydrive.

The update to Windows Live came through the back door without asking and now I cannot send attached photos on either of my Windows 7 systems. The "Ribbon Bar" or updated tool bar is overly complicated and does nothing to enhance the program. I don't know what SkyDrive is and don't want it.

Also Windows Live Photo Gallery no longer can do simple edits to pictures. If I click on "Edit", all my photos start uploading to some place, SkyDrive? I know that I can simply uninstall Windows Live Essentials , but what will I do for an e-mail client and what happens to my present e-mail messages and contact list?

Do I have to go through a export and import again to retain them providing I can find an acceptable e-mail client? I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with Windows Live Essentials I'm sure the teams would love to hear your feedback; however, this forum is dedicated to the Office Web Apps on SkyDrive, SharePoint, and docs.

Too bad 'microsoft answers' can't fine tune google's search results. I send an attachment and the recipient has to be online to view the jpg png or whatever attachment on skydrive's server, and the image will only be available on the server for a limited time.

Here is a thread not just a general link to a forum which actually addresses questions posed here. I don't know how to get rid of it. It is the worst idea EVER. What idiot thought that removing the pictures from the text that applies to it and putting it in a ribbon up top was a good idea? I hope you fired them Microsoft. So, How do I get rid of SkyDrive? Oh, and I hope you find me because who ever checks into Windows Live??

I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with SKyDrive. For comments related to SkyDrive itself , or how Photos work on SkyDrive , you should really ask on their forums. Asking there will allow someone knowledgeable about the service provide accurate assistance. That said, you cannot "get rid" of SkyDrive.

SkyDrive is a web service that provides 25 gigs of free storage, allowing you to save and optionally share documents, photos, and other files on the web.

You can, however, choose not to use SkyDrive and find alternate means of sending and sharing photos. Please bare with me as I try to understand the problem. As I understand it you are scanning your photos through Windows Live Photo Gallery and then using the same program to send them out via e-mail.

When you upgraded to the new Windows Live Photo Gallery the way this process works changed, and you would look to go back to the old system. Is this correct?
